You are taking an enormous risk if you let a contractor on your property with out being properly insured. Most contractors will tell you that they are fully insured hoping that you wont ask to see certificates. If a worker is injured on your property and the contractor does not carry workers compensation insurance, the customer is liable for medical bills and time off work.
