Concrete Driveway Sealing
Concrete driveways and garage floors should be cleaned and sealed with a good acrylic sealer every 3 to 4 years.
Maintaining your concrete has several advantages. It will reduce damage from the “freeze and thaw process”. Secondly, it helps to prevent cracks and surface flaking caused by water penetration and it seals out stains, dirt and most chemicals. A sealed concrete driveway will have a rich wet look color.
J.K. Schwartz, Inc provides a complete concrete sealing service. We power wash the concrete using a concrete surface cleaner. We may use a concrete de-greaser to help lift oil and other stains as well. We do not normally use power washing wands to clean concrete. This process causes unwanted streak marks and uneven cleaning.
After the concrete is thoroughly cleaned, we let the concrete dry for 24 hours. After the drying process, we apply a liberal amount of an acrylic sealer using a good industrial sprayer. As we apply the sealer, it is rolled out using a half inch nap roller. This procedure insures an even application. We generally will apply 2 coats of sealer to the approach of the driveway due to winter road salt.
